A cleaner desk is usually about cables, not buying another gadget. Ten minutes of tidy routing makes your keyboard, mouse, and pad look intentional.
Quick wins
- Pick one path — run power and USB along the same edge of the desk (usually the back or a single leg).
- Leave slack at the keyboard and mouse — enough to move, not enough to tangle.
- Bundle, don’t knot — soft hook-and-loop ties beat zip ties if you reconfigure often.
- Lift cords off the floor — a simple under-desk tray or adhesive clips keeps feet and chair wheels clear.
What to use
- Adhesive cable clips for the desk edge
- A short USB hub near the monitor so one cable goes to the PC
- A fabric sleeve only if you have a permanent bundle you rarely change
Desk setup tip
Put the mouse pad down first, then keyboard, then route cables. It’s easier than threading wires after everything is placed.

A 10-minute tidy that sticks
- Unplug what you do not use daily and label the keepers.
- Route power bricks under the desk; keep only mouse/keyboard cables on top.
- Add clips along the desk edge and a tray or sleeve for the thick power bundle.
Small buys that help
Magnetic clips, a short under-desk tray, and one USB hub near your hands beat a pile of adapters. Keep RGB controllers reachable so you are not fishing behind the monitor. More help: spgdsllc@gmail.com.
